A New Swap...

NEW UPDATE: I am setting a sign-up closing date for the 15th of Nov. I have some invites out, so, while we're waiting for them, please sign up if you're interested and spread the word. Thanks!

UPDATE: Thanks to those who have signed up, so far. I will be contacting you by e-mail. Still
lots of room if you know anyone who would be interested. :)

Here it is. I think I got the details worked out. This will be a Tag/Destash Secret Santa Swap. The idea is to sign up for the swap. After the sign-up is closed, everyone will be randomly assigned a Secret Santa. You will send your recipient an altered tag (theme below) and a grab bag taken from your own stash. Then you will receive a tag and grab bag from someone else. No one will be required to buy anything new. The idea is to have to make only one tag and destash a bit in exchange for some new to you products.

The tag: the theme for the tag will be Christmas. The challenge will be to use at least one rub-on on the tag. The tag can be any size and/or shape. Again, you'll only need to make one.

The grab bag: to keep things equal, I've put together a list of things to include. Again, these should be from your stash. They should be unused and complete if applicable. Handmade where applicable is okay, too, as long as it fits the category.

Please include the following:

20 6" x 6" sheets of patterned paper - that's 5 12"x12" papers cut down or 20 pages from a paper pad(s) or a mixture. I'm requesting 6x6 to keep the package a manageable size for everyone.
5 charms or other metal embellishments other than brads.
1 alphabet - can be rub-on, stickers, chipboard, etc. as long as it is complete and unused.
10 diecuts or punched shapes - these can be the same or different or a mixture and can be chipboard or patterned paper.
10 stamped images in black ink on white cardstock - these must be different images, unless you don't have that many stamps.
1 bling - this can be a set of jewels or pearls or a bling design or similar, as long as it is complete and unused.
10 fibers/trims/ribbons - this can be all fibers, all trims, all ribbons or a mixture. I'm leaving the length to your discretion. Any reasonable length is fine.
5 small (1" or smaller) or 3 medium (1" - 2") or 1 large (over 2") flower(s) - these can be prima or die cut or handmade or similar.
3 journaling spots - Pre-made, handmade, any size.
1 pocket or small envelope(coin size, etc)
and lastly, a surprise - just something you never used, not your style anymore, etc. A stamp or alpha or ink or other thing.

Also, this is a minimum suggestion. If anyone wants to add more, please feel free to do so.

Any suggestions to alterations of the list are welcome.

Open to residents of the US and Canada, only.

To sign up, leave a comment below with your e-mail.

I'd like to get at least 5 participants, but, hopefully more, so, please spread the word. I will leave the signup open for now, but, I'm thinking a mailing deadline of Dec. 1st.

Again, spread the word. Let's see how many we can get. :)

Freebie #4

UPDATE!!! Freebie #4 has been taken! Thanks.

Freebie #4 is in my shop. Shop link in right hand column. It is still free - don't pay the 20 cents minimum required for listing.

To get this freebie, purchase it from my shop. However, you MUST put "Paper & Yarn" in the notes to seller, so I know you came from my blog.

Freebie #4 is hand crocheted beaded lace, approximately 7". This lace was hand crocheted by me using cotton crochet thread and glass bead teardrops. It is one piece and cannot be cut. If you cut it, it will unravel. Use double stick tape or liquid fabric glue to adhere it to a mini book page or wrap it around a tag.

This freebie will be open until someone purchase it.

Some additional notes about the freebies. I will be mailing them out once a week, probably on Mondays of the next week.

04 November 2010

Secret Santa

If you signed up for the Secret Santa swap, you should have received an e-mail. If you did not receive an e-mail, please let me know. :)

Freebie #3

UPDATE!! This freebie has been sold.

Freebie #3 is a diecut butterfly embellished with a hand crocheted flower. You will receive one like this one, but, with a different pattern and flower.

This freebie will be open until midnight MT on Nov. 5th. No question today, just leave a comment. :)

Some additional notes about the freebies. I will be mailing them out once a week, probably on Mondays of the next week. If you are the winner, I will contact you by e-mail for your address. You can enter as many days as you like, but, you can only win once.

IMPORTANT: The freebies are only open to the US. The swap is open to US and Canada, but, since I'm footing the postage, the freebies are only for the US.

03 November 2010

Updates and rant

Monday's freebie is closed. I am extending yesterday's freebie through tomorrow, the 4th at midnight, MT, since no one signed up for it.

Now for a mini-rant. This country is full of spoiled brats who want everything done right now and given to them on a silver platter and they don't want to work for it; pay for it; or care who gets hurt by it. So sad and disappointed in the country right now.

02 November 2010

Freebie #2 and more

Thanks to those who have signed up for the swap and/or freebie.

You still have time to enter yesterday's freebie.

Some additional notes about the freebies. I will be mailing them out once a week, probably on Mondays of the next week. If you are the winner, I will contact you by e-mail for your address. You can enter as many days as you like, but, you can only win once.

IMPORTANT: I really apologize for forgetting to mention this yesterday, but, the freebies are only open to the US. The swap is open to US and Canada, but, since I'm footing the postage, the freebies are only for the US. If you already entered the first one and you are not from the US and you win, I will still send it to you, anyway, because that was my error, but, please, from now on, only US residents for freebies.

Freebie #2:

This is a small strip - 6" - of vintage measuring tape. It is very old and faded. Would look good on a mini. Again, this freebie will include some additional "flat" things.

Leave a comment and answer the question. Please include your e-mail. This freebie will close on Nov. 3 at midnight MT.

Mini books - should they close flat or is bumpy okay?

Enjoy!

Freebies

UPDATE!!! This freebie is closed. I will be contacting the winner by e-mail. Thanks.

Some additional notes about the freebies. I will be mailing them out once a week, probably on Mondays of the next week. If you are the winner, I will contact you by e-mail for your address. You can enter as many days as you like, but, you can only win once.

I have a bunch of stuff I'd like to give away. It's just small stuff, some commercial, some handmade. So, I will be doing a mostly daily freebie, here on the blog.

For the first freebie, you'll receive these crocheted flowers (plus a few other flat things that will fit in a standard envelope). They are 1" inch and have a flat cardstock back.

Just leave a comment on this post with your e-mail and an answer to the question before midnight (MT) Nov. 2nd and I'll pick someone at random.

"What is your favorite Halloween memory?"

New swap and a surprise...

First, thanks, so much, to my swappers. You should have all received your tags, by now. If not, please let me know.

I have my new swap formulated. It's going to be a Christmas tag/Destash Secret Santa swap. I'm working on the details and will post them on Monday, the 1st. So, please come back on Monday to get the details and to sign up.

Also, I will be doing something special for the month of November(maybe into December). Details for that will also be coming on Monday.

See you then!

19 October 2010

Swap video and shipping.

The video is finished and up. If I have already received your shipping payment, your package will go out tomorrow(Wed.). Otherwise, it will go out the next business day after I receive shipping payment.

Thanks again and look for a new swap coming soon.

17 October 2010

Updates to swap and shop

Swap...

Thanks, so much, to my swappers. I'm waiting for the last package(which has already been mailed) to arrive (I am hoping tomorrow) and then I will do a video before I send them out. I will be sending out invoices for shipping today and tomorrow.

Everyone has been thanking me for hosting, but, seriously, I am thanking you for participating. This has been so much fun, I'm already planning another one. This time with a challenge. :) Look for more details coming this week.

Shop...

$1 of all tag sales will go to charity. This month's charity - Susan G. Komen.

Tags will no longer feature fibers and/or trims. However, I always stick random goodies in with my orders which usually include some fibers or trims. Happy shopping.

07 October 2010

IMPORTANT!

Updates went out on Tuesday. If you haven't responded, please do, so I know you received all the information. If you did not receive an e-mail, it is because I don't have your e-mail. PLEASE send me your e-mail.

Thanks so much!

05 October 2010

Tag Swap

Waiting to hear back from two members and then updates will go out today. Thanks for participating!

29 September 2010

Swap Update!

Yay! We have enough for a group, so, I am setting a sign-up deadline for Oct. 5th. Comments will be closed at midnight on the 5th.

If you are interested and haven't signed up, yet, please do so ASAP. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please let them know. :)

I will be sending complete details and my address to participants this week. Please send me your e-mail if you haven't already. Thanks. :)

21 September 2010

Tag image swap and drawing

I have a zillion blank tags, so, I'm going to host a tag image swap to get rid of some of them. Please spread the word. I love the swaps that With a Grin does, so, I'm "swap-lifting" her swap. :)

Sample tag:

Rules:

Very simple.
Open to residents of the US and Canada.
Sign up by leaving a comment on this post with your e-mail and first name and last initial.
I will leave this open until I get 25 participants or more. Once I get 25 participants, I will announce a closing date.
Participants will be divided into groups of between 5 to 8, depending on total number of participants.
Each participant will be required to send in a set of plain, standard shipping tags - one for each member of their group - with an image stamped on each tag in black permanent ink, such as staz-on. The tag can be sized to fit the image.
Each participant will then receive a tag from each member of their group.
I will not be a member of any group, but, instead, I will be including a tag for each participant of the swap.
Please mail your tags in a LARGE bubble envelope that can be reused to send tags back to you.

**SHIPPING INFO**

I will not be handling shipping like other swaps. Instead, I will be sending members a Paypal invoice for $4.00 (most swaps end up being between $3 and $4 to ship). If your package costs less to ship, I'll give you a refund. If your package costs more than $4.50 to ship, I will send you another invoice. This also makes it really easy to print shipping labels and saves a trip to the PO. :) If you don't have a Paypal account, please contact me to work something out.

**A DRAWING**

Extra good stuff - if i get at least 25 participants, I will hold a drawing for all participants. The prize will be: A Compendium of Curiosities by Tim Holtz. You can find this book on Two Peas in a Bucket or Scrapbook.com. I will include the book with the winners tags - no extra shipping required.

So, please spread the word!

UPDATE!

Participants:

**Jenny H.
*Kim W.
**Jolaine F.
*Andrea
**Joyce A.

If there is a star by your name, it means I have your address and you should have received an e-mail today with instructions.

If there is no star by your name, I do not have your e-mail address. Please send me an e-mail (on the right) with your e-mail address. Thanks!

RAK from Rina

I received this cool RAK from Rina (scrapstress on youtube). This is my first attempt at a "live" video instead of a slide show. Hope you enjoy it.

Thunder and Lightning

Uploaded this mostly for my sister, who misses the rain in Vegas. :)

18 August 2010

Tattoo

Middle daughter's belated birthday present.

Yep, my (20-year-old) baby has a tattoo. If you're a Harry Potter fan, you might appreciate it. :)

13 August 2010

Updates

Some new news...

The new tag set for the 15th will feature an embellishment.

I added some pictures of a sample grab bag on the tag 01 post.

I have a new video. I sent Rina from Scrapstress(youtube) fame a RAK and I included this little canvas I made for her. I didn't want to put the video up until she received her package. So, here it is.

She has a much better view of it on her video(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gwy_GSXtn3Q). I want to thank her, so much, for making that video and mentioning my blog and such. Thanks, Rina! And, I'm so glad she liked everything. I just love her videos. She gets so into everything she talks about. Go check her out if she's new to you. :)

BTW, I will be making more of these little canvases and putting them up in my shop, soon. They are so much fun to make. I am also still trying to work up the courage to do a "live" video. Yikes. I will also be sending out more RAK's - also lots of fun.

31 July 2010

Flower swap

I would like to join other swaps, but, I keep missing them. They are closed by the time I get there. So, I'm considering hosting my own swap of handmade flowers.

What does everyone think?

I'd like to thank Marie and everyone for the lovely tags I received. I will be putting up a picture of everyone's tags. In the meantime, here is a list of available youtube channels/blogs of people in my group.

Anywho, thanks for all the hard work. I had lots of fun making my tags and receiving all of yours.

Edited to add...

Video finished!

I finished the slideshow video. I think it came out pretty good.

I will do another one to show the tags I receive after they arrive. :)
